January 1, 2010 - Latest Reunion Update
January 28, 2009
Greetings to All,
I give God praise for everything that He has done and is doing in us, through us and for us in this wonderful year of new beginnings. I hope this letter finds you and your household in good health and spirit.
Can you believe six months have passed already since our Family Reunion in Atlanta? The 2008 reunion will be remembered as the most commemorative event that the Atlanta delegates have ever planned. The atmosphere and location of the Hilton Gardens Hotel was ideal for all. Being surrounded by the mall, restaurants, shopping strips, minutes away from the picnic, and a straight shot to downtown Atlanta were quite convenient by most! Our first Annual Ladies Tea where the ladies displayed their beauty elegance was a joyous occasion. The kids enjoyed a day at the Pin Strikes where they bowled, played laser tag, bumper cars and arcade games. The Banquet and dance were a success with great food and music for all! On Saturday, the family enjoyed a Southern style picnic at the Lenora Church Park, a setting just for our reunion. We enjoyed a delicious meal topped with homemade deserts by family members. The kids were engaged in games, playground and the Water Park. Taliah Turner premiered the 2008 Crawley/Crowley Family DVD. I hope that you all received a copy for your own viewing. We were blessed on Sunday morning with breakfast and an inspiring worship service. We selected the following family memebers as our 2010 elected officers: Felecia Carlton – President, Sonya Hill. – Vice President, Brenda Harden – Treasurer, James Martin – Assistant Treasurer, Josephine Crawley – Secretary, Cametrese Watkins - Assistant Secretary, Barbara Evans – Historian, and Brian Crawley – Parliamentarian. Praise God for allowing everyone’s safe return.
The 2010 reunion will be held in Houston, TX for the first time in reunion history. The dates are July 08 -11, 2010. Mr. & Mrs. Onzie Jones, Jr, Mr. & Mrs. Kendall Jones and Jamie Crawley are working diligently in seeking venues that will meet our overall expectations, such as hotels, parks and caterers. We truly appreciate their efforts in taking ownership of this great task.
One item of importance is for all family members to pay their $25 dues - whether you plan to attend the reunion or not. Your payment of a mere $25 enables us to build up money in the treasury to pay the banquet and breakfast room deposits. So, think of it as your contribution toward keeping our family reunion tradition alive. The quicker we build the treasury it will increase our chance of getting the place(s) we want. I strongly urge every adult to start submitting your payment of $25 now. So before putting away this letter and forgetting about it; please make out a check to Crawley-Crowley Family Reunion and mail it to Brenda Harden at 2816 Havenwood Drive in Conyers, Georgia 30094.
We are looking forward to another exceptional reunion in Houston, so mark your calendars now. As the committee moves forward with plans, I will keep you abreast of the progress. Although, it is too soon to set an amount for the actual reunion fee, you may still send in payments (installments) toward it now. This method will help in alleviating the burden of one big payment.
Due to costs, future information will be issued via email in lieu of postage mail. Anyone without an email address will receive information through postal mail. If you have ideas that you would like to share, I welcome your emails or phone calls.
I look forward to corresponding with you, working with you, and seeing you at our 2010 reunion.
May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may His face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you.
Sincerely,
Felecia Carlton
Family President
