James W. Martin Jr. graduated from Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, IL on May 24, 2006.  Attending James graduation were his proud parents James Sr. and Barbara Martin, his grandmother Eunice Crawley Martin, sisters Dr. Dion Nicole Martin and Lesley and his aunt Alice Faye Martin from Carson Calif.  James graduated with high honors and was in National Honor Society.  James had a 3.6 GPA out of a 4.0 high and scored 29 on his ACT (36 high).

 

During the week James received an Athletic Boosters Scholarship at the Senior Award Ceremony.  James also received an award for lettering in three sports all four years of high school.  There were only two students out of approximately 1000 to receive the aforementioned award.

 

James Jr. will attend the University of Illinois next fall where he will major in electrical engineering.  He is a recipient of the University of Illinois President’s Scholarship.
